Fundraising

The development of the group through the years has relied heavily on raising additional funds to support the growth of our group.

This group currently offers scouting opportunities to 140 local children and that is something we are very proud of as a team.

Here at 8th Ashford we have a very active Fundrasing Committee, their support and enthusiasm coordinating and running events on the groups behalf is a key feature of the success of 8th Ashford.

The committee is always looking for new volunteers... if you are a parent who has a child in the group and would like to show your support , then this would be a great way to help us.

We have 2 main fundraising events during the year to which we ask for as much support from family and friends as possible. These are our 'Annual Summer Fair' usually in June, and at Christmas the Group all take part in 'Bag Packing' at Sainbury's in Staines. The proceeds donated from these 2 events combined, are used to fund both minibuses for the following year.

We also run a very succesful 100 Club with prizes of £20, £10 and £5 on a monthly basis . At the Annual General Meeting held during the Summer Term we have a draw where the prizes are £100, £50 and £25 for further information or an application form to join please email the fundraising team.

Once registered as a user, any purchase you make would generate a percentage donation to the Scout Group. Many stores signed up to this fundraising scheme Tesco, Milletts, Amazon, Play.com, M & S.
